Glenda

Hey All!!! My name is Glenda and I am a passionate gardener. I grow from my greenhouse in Central Alberta Canada. In this area, the gentle sport of gardening is also an extreme sport…the challenges are endless! (but then, so are the possibilities!) Winter weather in sub zero conditions, hot dry spells in the summer and severe storms all year round, make the greenhouse both a refuge and a huge commitment!

Even as a child I was interested in plants of any kind. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that loved their gardens and yard work, and learned a little each year until I was finally able to strike out on my own and have my own yard.

My primary interest is annuals and tropical houseplants, but if it has leaves…I am pretty much in! I am a self taught greenhouse and garden girl with a lot of trial and error, hits misses and much success under her belt. I grow all of my own annuals from seed in my greenhouse and harvest seeds from my houseplants, and gardens each season. As a single mother of three young children, I find it very rewarding to sit and take a little time each day just to be quiet and enjoy the blooms of my labor.

I hope you will join me in my greenhouse as I propagate and care for my tropical plants during the fall and winter months, and in January when I begin the planting of the annual seeds for the coming spring. I tweak and putter all year round, each year improving my operation and making it more efficient!

I am proud to share my gardens with anyone who wishes to tour, and enjoy blogging about it and helping anyone who asks. I am excited to grow and learn with you…so please visit and share with us often!

You can find me here…or at my primary blog…www.tootsietime.com where I share my love of gardening and also some interior decorating tips, junkin and trash to treasure adventures.
